PADI Open Water Certification
Thank you for inquiring about Scuba School and Dive Center’s Open Water Scuba Class. You need only 3 days of your time to receive an International Open Water Diving certification from PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors), the world’s largest and most respected diving organization. Our dedicated staff will ensure that you enjoy the best pool and academic training possible. Once the training has been completed, you will be ready to experience two days of diving pleasure! For your dives, you’ll enjoy the reef system and drift diving off the Broward County coastline. How much more time can I be underwater?
DAY 1 Prescheduled three hours during the week. The day begins in our classroom at Scuba School and Dive Center. Your academic “homework” is reviewed and we give you four simple quizzes and then a final exam. You will also be fitted for your dive equipment.
DAY 2 Saturday 8 am - 5 PM is divided into two sections: pool session one and two shallow boat dives. We will meet at Scuba School and Dive Center. After we assemble our gear and fill out some paperwork, we will depart to the pool located near the dive center. Once the pool training is completed, you will be given a lunch break and then meet again at the boat for two dives on our famous reefs just off the shoreline.
DAY 3 Sunday 8 am – 6 PM. We will meet at the Scuba School and Dive Center to complete the pool training. Then off to the boat again for your final two certification dives. The day will conclude back at the dive center to fill out your certification card. You are then eligible to fill your tanks and dive anywhere in the world!
The cost of the class is only $345 (minimum class size of two). This price includes your PADI Open Water Manual or CD-ROM, Recreational Dive Planner (RDP) and instruction book, training logbook and the use of the PADI Open Water Video, instructor time, pool dives, boat dives, certification card and ALL rental gear. It does not include “personal gear”, which is considered to be your mask, snorkel, and fins; however these can be purchased as a package in our store. Packages are available at various costs and you will receive our student discount for any equipment you decide to purchase while enrolled in class. Phone 954-566-6344 or 877-88SCUBA for reservations.
Why do we require our students to have their own personal equipment (Masks, fins, and snorkel)?
We have watched over the years, many of our student suffer from bad choices or using borrowed equipment. A mask that leaks too much or you can’t clear (remove the water from the mask) or you can’t equalize or you plain can’t see makes for a very miserable and even painful experience. The wrong snorkel that is too big or too small, the wrong mouthpiece, get in the way, or is difficult to clear makes a wonderfully experience a poor one. The wrong fins will make you work too hard, use too much air, wear you out physically, and shorten you time in the water.
Why buy from us?
Our staff of teaching professionals can help you make the right choices and if you still have a problem you can receive a credit towards an exchange or upgrade of your equipment while you are in class.
The things to look for:
Snorkel
Fins
We are here to make your training experience both enjoyable and educational.
